In 2025, Simply Washrooms was proud to play a key role in a successful tender partnership with DOC Cleaning that secured the cleaning and washroom services contract for the National Theatre – one of London’s most iconic and high-traffic cultural landmarks.
Situated on the South Bank, the National Theatre welcomes over 1 million visitors each year, with three performance spaces operating year-round and dozens of productions staged annually. As one of the busiest public buildings in the capital, the site demands hygiene services that are not only efficient, but also discreet, inclusive, and able to keep pace with the constant flow of performers, staff, and audiences.
As part of the mobilisation, Simply Washrooms carried out a large-scale washroom installation across multiple levels of the building – and did so in a single morning. Our team successfully installed more than 250 hygiene units, including 19 male incontinence waste units, all before the building opened to the public at 10:00am. This time-sensitive delivery required precise planning, exceptional teamwork, and a smooth, coordinated approach from start to finish.
Looking ahead, the National Theatre will also begin offering Grace & Green sustainable period products across its washrooms – further reinforcing its commitment to dignity, inclusivity, and sustainability for all visitors.
This project is a powerful example of Simply Washrooms’ ability to deliver at speed, at scale, and with care – meeting the unique needs of a prestigious cultural venue with the professionalism and discretion it demands.
